Caley's interest in animals has been a life long passion. She grew up with a Miniature Poodle and has also owned another Siberian Husky. At the age of seven, she started horseback riding lessons, igniting an enthusiasm for both nature and animals. These experiences started her off with an insight into care for animals, behaviour, and successful communication with them. She attended York University for Kinesiology and Health Science in 1995. She became a certified dog-groomer in 1997.
Caley has over 20 years of experience serving the needs of dogs. With a keen interest in both health & wellness and animals
she founded Metro Dogstop over
12 years ago. This provided her with an opportunity to put her vision of dog care into practice.
Throughout this time she has maintained an avid belief in
providing a service that focused on whole-care for the dog, care that would exercise them mentally as well as physically by means of games through play and behaviour maintenance.
She keeps herself up to date on dog-related information by being a member of the Canadian Association of Pet Dog Trainers, American Association of Pet Dog Trainers, Professional Dog Walkers Association (of which She was a co-founding member), and the Canadian Pet Sitters Association. She has taken numerous courses on behaviour, communication, socialization and understanding of dogs. She attends
seminars and expos both in Canada and the United States dealing with dog care.
Caley has two dogs of her own. Raven, a 10 year
old Siberian Husky and Kayla, a 14 year old Shepherd-Spitz cross. When not looking after your pet, Caley loves spending time with them walking through the many ravines and streets of Toronto, going to agility and trick training classes, teaching them how to Skijor and rollerblade with her, and of course, just hanging out and relaxing. She believes that they are as much her teachers and companions as she is theirs.
